It occurs to me that the company holiday party won't be a formal affair (unlike the old job). It's immediately after work next Thursday, and we'll all be in our normal work clothes. Which is cool - it would have been fun to go shopping, but I'd rather save some cash and not have to get a "nice" dress.

I spent an hour at the Social Security Administration office this morning filling out paperwork and waiting in lines so I could apply for a social security replacement card. I remember when I was a kid my mother gave me my original social security card and told me that it was very important and that I should never lose it. Well, c'mmon, I was a kid! Of course I immediately went out and lost it. And now, a zillion years later I need it so I can get on the payroll of my new job. But at least that's all taken care of and now I have the papers I need to hand in to the payroll people.

I'm sick of being "almost sick". I'm totally fine except for needing 10 hours of sleep every night, which totally blows.

Tomorrow is my first French class. Hopefully no one will point and laugh at me when I try to say French stuff.
