(no subject)

I went dancing last night but didn't stay out late. I left before it got too crowded and headed home.

Today's a beautiful day. I got up early, did a couple loads of laundry, and walked over to the farmer's market in Lincoln Park - the Green City Market. I got a whole bunch of things: fresh flowers, chicken, eggs, asparagus, mushrooms, jam, cheese and bread.

Now I'm going to go out and do a little window shopping - it's so nice out it would be a sin to remain indoors.



The cicadas are emerging this week (Mon or Tues)! The farmer's market will be interesting next week with of all the bugs flying around. It's a good thing they don't have mouths though, or they'd be into the food and that would just be gross.

Things I see

This afternoon I walked all over Lincoln Park and Old Town, exploring my new neighborhood.
I discovered that the "brick" cross walks are actually painted on:

And I found this gorgeous alley in the Depaul area:

I walked down it and could see into everyone's back yards. It was fascinating - I felt a little like I was trespassing.

Now I am back home, relaxing after four hours of walking and browsing neighborhood shops. You know what? Today was a really great day. If I could bottle Today, I would do it in a heartbeat.
