Graceless pirates
Aug. 9th, 2014 09:59 pmFeeling better today. In fact, feeling good enough to try doing yoga last night. For the first time in about a year. Yeah, I need practice. No grace AT ALL. This is my last push to start a healthy exercise regime before the summer is over. Fingers crossed I don't pull a muscle.
I'm hoping that as I taper off my medication I will lose my lethargy and lack of willpower. Because it can't actually be me, right? Me being lazy? No way. That's got to be a side effect of the evil medication.
In any case, the withdrawal has thankfully calmed down in terms of negative symptoms. I hardly notice it, in fact, which is the whole idea behind tapering off slowly. I can't wait to be med free.
I bought a Channel lipstick, 'Pirate' for 32 € today. At that price I should have put the damn thing down and run out the door screaming, but I did not. The Pirate got my gold. I tried it on at home and it looks good, thank God.

Sunday morning circles
Aug. 3rd, 2014 03:42 pmLast night around 3am I did an internet search to see if there are any acupressure points to help relieve insomnia. Turns out there ARE. I used the point between my eyes and the two on my wrist. I was asleep in 10 minutes.

This is a screen shot of of an interactive piece I made in Processing. The circle trails the mouse and changes size and colour based on how fast the cursor moves and where it goes. Yay!
Now I need to figure out how to post the actual file (not just screen shot) to the internet so it can actually be interacted with. hrm.

Insomnia and little yellow men
Aug. 2nd, 2014 01:38 amI've decided to use the hours I spend suffering from insomnia to learn Processing, a computer language used for programming images, animation, and interaction.
I'm a total beginner at this, but I've been reading a book about it and doing the exercises it provides. Tonight I produced this little yellow man, created entirely by myself with CODE. I made a pencil sketch first and everything. Yippee!
Now back to trying to get to sleep...

Vegan deserts and bionic rabbits
Jul. 26th, 2014 02:46 pmGoing to dinner with friends and then an art performance party/opening/thing tonight. I was asked to bring a vegan desert for dinner. Hmm.. trying to imagine what that might be. I'm sure I'll think of something. If all else fails I can bring strawberries and dark chocolate, right? We could melt the chocolate and dip the strawberries in.

This one looks like a futuristic bionic rabbit to me. With glowing orange eyes.

Amplituhedron
Jul. 13th, 2014 01:46 amI finally got around to doing my bookkeeping, so that's a load off my back. Didn't do much today, which was exactly as planned, and it was awesome. I've needed a day like this for a loooong time. Tomorrow Germany plays in the world cup finals! Should make for a noisy night here :)
Another computer sketch this evening. I'm really happy with this one.

Not that many Trick-or-Treaters showed up yesterday despite the pumpkins in my windows and brightly illuminated door. Well, there were SOME kids, of course, but not enough to clear out my cache of treats. So now I am here stuck with a basket of mini KitKats and am of course eating them until my stomach hurts and I can't bear the thought of eating another molecule of sugar or chocolate EVER. God help me.
Aside from gorging on sweets, I've been doing some drawing lately, coming up with material for new paintings. There's a lot of weird stuff floating around in my head and I figured it would be a good idea to get it all out on paper before deciding what to paint next.
I like this one. The working title is 'The Footmen':
