The new place
Apr. 7th, 2007 05:27 pmToday I got the internet turned on at my new place. The Comcast guy arrived at 9:30, puttered around with cables and tools, and was out of here about an hour later. Then I went out and bought a router at the Best Buy down the street, so now I have wireless access.
I scoured the bathroom, which was an intense, filthy task, but now it looks and feels much better in there.
The bathtub faucet drips constantly, and the sound bothers me. I told the maintenance man about it last Monday, but nothing has been done. I suppose I'll have to hound him to get it taken care of.
If you add up all the little annoyances of this appartment, including the hole in the floor, they are all offset by the amazing water pressure this place has. After years and years of wimpy showers I finally have a shower that blasts the crap out of me every morning. It is awesome.
I am doing laundry right now. I can hear my laundry drying because it is directly below me. As
metrocentric pointed out, it is not such a bad thing to be located above the laundry room: I can hear when the machines stop. Plus it's super convenient.
This is the bedroom. There are no chiars in this room. It is nice and big, but right now it feels profoundly empty. I need a comfy chair in there or something. And curtains - all of the windows need curtains. Currently, there are mini-blinds in most of the windows, and they look cheap and dirty. I have never liked mini-blinds much.

Here is me sitting in the chair-less bedroom.

This is the living room. It has a chair, but the chair is piled full of crap. I move the crap, but then more crap seems to pile up there. I think stuff gravitates to the chair because there is nowhere else to put things down. I need a table or something. I made a makeshift floor lamp out of a clamp light and a shelf. I would like to get a real floor lamp and hang the shelf on the wall, though. In fact, I need to get more than one lamp - the bedroom has no overhead light and is dark at night.

This is the kitchen. The kitchen is nice and has a lot of counter space and cupbords.

Ah! My laundry is done. I can run down and pull it all out of the dryer now.
