Out on the town
Aug. 25th, 2007 12:03 pmI met up with
madresal last night for beers and conversation. It was great to see her after all these months and hear about her trip to Peru. We talked about all sorts of stuff. Work, traveling, movies. She had to get up early though, so we parted ways around 11pm and I took the train back to Lincoln Park. I didn't feel like going home yet, so when I got off the train in my neighborhood I ran over to the Red Lion Pub and took a seat at the bar. I hadn't been in there for years and didn't know a soul, but nevertheless was soon in a fascinating conversation with a couple that had just moved to Chicago earlier in the week. And although the place closed at 2am, the bartender and regulars bid me to stay once the chairs were up and and the lights low for a last round, and we all talked about art and writing until around 3am when I grabbed up my things and waved goodbye. It was a good time, and I'll have to go back some time soon.
