The email life cycle
Feb. 18th, 2013 10:43 pmSometimes I feel like I am drowning in email. I like to get them but answering them is hard and takes time. I read them quickly and always intend to answer but somehow they stack up and get old. Crusty old emails. And then it gets embarrassing. How do I respond to this or that person now that it has been a week or more? How do I explain that I frittered away all my time watching videos on YouTube about the spiritual power of crystals or the 9/11 conspiracy or Thundarr the Barbarian?

So then I do answer the emails and I feel so relieved to have answered them, like I have finally thrown up after being nauseous for a really long time. But then people respond to my emails – almost as soon as I have answered them! A whole new batch of email crops up and the cycle is renewed.
