Psychic induction
Sep. 14th, 2013 12:17 pmI've been experiencing more psychic ability than normal lately. Things like knowing who is going to knock on my door or call my phone just before these events occur. Little things, but it's pretty cool and I hope it continues.
Back when I was 19 I was in a sudden, freak accident that fractured my pelvis in 4 places. I spent a week in the hospital before they allowed me to go home. There's not much you can do for someone who has a broken pelvis; it wasn't so bad that I needed surgery, but it was bad enough that I couldn't walk for a while. Then I was given a walker (omg using a walker at 19 was funny as hell), and finally I graduated to crutches. After a few months of lying on my back in bed and using the crutches when absolutely necessary I was recovered enough to limp around without help. The limp was actually really bad – I looked like Frankenstein's assistant, Igor, but a month of physical therapy and painful-as-hell exercises did away with the limp.
For about a year after the accident I had really vivid psychic dreams that would be about the following day's activities. The people I would meet, places I would go, things that would happen. It was like I received a nightly briefing. But eventually the psychic dreams faded and became replaced by 'normal' dreams.
The psychic dreams seemed to be an innate ability that was awakened when I experienced life-threatening trauma to my body, and when the threat was no longer perceived, the ability to sense future events receded back into dormancy. It felt primal – something from waaaay back. Like, if I was a cave woman with a smashed pelvis, I would have relied upon this sixth sense to keep me safe while I recuperated.
I would love to be able to wake that ability back up again. I wonder if there's a way to shock it back into operation without massive body trauma being part of the process.
