alcippeThe new apartment is cavernous and cold.
I've been sitting on the floor a lot.
I sit on my wood floor in front of my space heater and drink tea because it is so cold in there.
If I turn on the oven the fire alarm goes off.
It is dark because I don't have enough lamps.
It doesn't feel like home yet. There's nowhere to sit.
I suppose if there was somewhere to sit it would feel more like home.
Last night I tried to hang curtains but it looked awful and neither the curtain rod nor the curtains were wide enough to cover the window. I felt defeated and took it all down. I wanted to throw my drill across the room but I did not.
There is a hole in the floor where I can see downstairs into the laundry room. The maintenance man looked very grave when I showed him the hole.
Tomorrow morning my internet is getting turned on, and that will make it feel a little more like home.
I miss my old home.
