I've been reading Neil Gaiman's "Coraline" in German, and Im loving it. It's written for 10 year olds, so it's about at my reading comprehension level, and the words I don't know I look up. I'm so engrossed in the story that I don't feel like it's work at all to read it in German, which is great, and I'm learning a lot of new words. I'm almost half way through the book, and when I'm finished I'm going to watch the movie as a reward.
My friend Kelly is in the final stages of having her book published, and she included me on the acknowledgements page, which is a huge honor to me. The book has been many years in the making, and I'm so proud of her for making her dream come true and getting her story published. It feels like yesterday that I was sitting at her computer, reading the first chapter, telling her that no, really, it WAS good stuff and she really needed to keep going with it. I'm so proud of her that she actually did. It was so cool to get her email asking my opinion of which cover she should go with - she's going with the good one ;)
Today I walked home from work, past check point Charlie, Alexanderplatz, and then up through Prenzlaurberg to my current residence. It was warm out and the moon was hanging full in the sky. Life is good here.
