Remote islands and cosmic events

A friend of mine emailed me a few days ago and asked if I would like to journey with her to the Faroe Islands in a year from now to witness a total eclipse of the sun on the Spring equinox. I wrote back yes! – what an amazing event to witness!
But oh my God the flight to that little island is expensive. Looks like the Faroe islanders are going to milk this eclipse for all it's worth.
Then I did a little googling and discovered that in 2017, just two years after the eclipse in the Faroe Islands, there is going to be a total eclipse of the sun that runs right right through Illinois! It'll cross the lower part of the state on March 21.

So I'm now trying to decide which total solar eclipse I should view (kind of a bizarre problem to have). Do I go see the one where I get to also visit friends and family? Or the one where I go to an extremely remote island? Or maybe both? Decisions, decisions..
