Cosmic events and the pursuit of shelter

alcippeAfter doing extensive research, it has become clear that every possible kind of accommodation in the Faroe Islands during the 2015 eclipse was booked years ago. Short of camping, there is no way my friend and I are going to be able to do this. And I'm not really into frostbite.
So now we are altering our plans slightly. We are going to find a place near enough to the eclipse that we can still witness and enjoy it, although not in the direct path of totality. This means Iceland, Scotland, Norway, or some other country up there. I'd love to see any of those places, so I'm totally psyched. In my mind I see us staying in an old turf house, maybe with a sauna in there somewhere.
